Montgomery Regional Airport Terminal

Montgomery Regional Airport Terminal
Montgomery, Alabama

Passenger comfort and convenience, as well as stringent security requirements, were the guiding principles behind the terminal expansion at the Montgomery Regional Airport. The three-phase program blended the high-tech nature of Montgomery's computer and automotive industries with the history and culture of the Old South.

The program consisted of an expansion of the ticketing lobby with a new exterior of steel and glass, a large rotunda for passenger waiting areas, boarding gates, retail, dining, administration areas, and security. The project resulted in a doubling of both the public areas of the terminal and the useable aircraft parking area. All new security, public address, flight information display, and fire systems were included. The automobile parking lot was significantly expanded, and a new access road with landscaping completed the exterior of the passengers' first impressions of the community.
