Giannelli, who is a resident of Oak Ridge, has more than 38 years of engineering and management experience in both the private and public sectors.  He worked for seven years with the Connecticut Department of Transportation.  He held civil engineering and management roles with IT Group/Shaw Group, Knoxville, and with Lockwood Greene Engineers, Knoxville.  At one point in his career, while associated with IT Group, he managed 2,200 employees working in 80 different locations.  

Giannelli holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Haven, Connecticut. He is a Professional Engineer in nine states.
