Nashville, TN — In September, Barge, Waggoner, Sumner, and Cannon, Inc. (BWSC) employees Russell Moorehead, PE, and Chris Triplett, PE, PMP, were recognized by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Tennessee Section, for their service to the organization and industry and presented with the Dan B. Barge, Jr. Award for Distinguished Service. Both Moorehead and Triplett are strong supporters of the organization and are active at both the state and local levels.

The Dan B. Barge, Jr. Award for Distinguished Service is awarded annually to an engineer member of the Tennessee Section of ASCE who has made definite contributions to the Society at the national, section, and/or branch levels. Recipients are recommended by the Branch President and approved by the Section Board of Directors. Begun in 1988, the first recipient was Dan B. Barge, Jr., co-founder of BWSC. Since that time, two other BWSC employees have received the award – Chairman Emeritus Jack Wood and Chairman Emeritus Garland Rose. This year, the award was given to two recipients due to their equally impressive service and dedication to the industry.

Moorehead is a Senior Project Engineer with the BWSC Chattanooga office. He works with projects involving municipal transportation, storm water management, water distribution, and other civil engineering elements. Triplett is a Project Manager in the BWSC Memphis office and works with project teams engaged in civil site design, waste water and storm water management, and municipal projects.
