Nashville, TN — A team of volunteers from the Barge, Waggoner, Sumner, and Cannon, Inc. Nashville office dedicated their time and effort on Saturday, September 24 to participate in Hands On Nashville Day. The volunteers worked to paint hallways and stairwells at Sylvan Park Paideia Design Center in West Nashville. The group was part of a record number of volunteers to dedicate a day of service to Metro Nashville’s Public Schools.
This year was the 20th anniversary of Hands On Nashville’s (HON) main volunteer event and drew over 1,800 participants who donated over 7,200 hours of their time to revitalize Metropolitan Nashville public schools. Hands On Nashville is an affiliate of the HandsOn Network. In 2010, HON connected nearly 200,000 volunteers with service opportunities, facilitating volunteer work for Middle Tennessee nonprofits, schools, government agencies, faith-based organizations, civic groups, and businesses. HON volunteers support 25 issue areas ranging from hunger and homelessness to at-risk youth and seniors in need. |
