Bill Lockwood Named 2017 Jack L. Wood Excellence in Service Award Recipient

Nashville, Tenn. – Barge, Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon, Inc., recently named Paul W. (Bill) Lockwood, ASLA, its 2017 Jack L. Wood Excellence in Service Award recipient at the firm’s annual employee banquet.

The Jack L. Wood Excellence in Service Award recognizes an employee who has over time provided superior service to our firm, displaying dedication and loyalty. The firm honors employees who share the same passion and drive that elevates their communities, team, and themselves to make their surroundings better. Recipients are nominated by their peers and selected by the Board of Directors.

Over his 40-year career with the firm, Lockwood has been involved in some of the most transformational projects in the region. He has served on numerous boards, non-profits, community action groups, and professional associations and was most recently presented with an Emeritus Certificate by the State of Tennessee for his eight years of service on the Tennessee Board of Architectural and Engineering Examiners.

Lockwood’s service in the community includes the board of directors for The TMA Group, regional leader in customizing environmentally-friendly, multimodal transportation solutions, and the Nashville Civic Design Center. He has previously served on the Board of Directors for the former Brentwood Chamber of Commerce and the Nashville Civic Design Center. Lockwood’s professional memberships include the American Planning Association and American Society of Landscape Architects.

The University of Georgia graduate is a Registered Landscape Architect in Tennessee and in five other states.
